NOTE: Netscape V4.01 has a problem with its date routines and the local time may not be correct - it should be the same as your PC clock.
The applet displays Jupiter and the four main satellites (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) in realtime. The distances of the satellites from Jupiter are in proportion to that of the real Jovian system.

The left-to-right order of the satellites are given by the satellite names displayed in the lower left box. Satellites names in red indicate that the satellite is being occulted (behind) by Jupiter. Satellite names in yellow represent transiting satellites.

Clicking on the image of Jupiter or any of the satellite images will take you to the appropriate page at the Nine Planets site. Clicking on the ? displays a brief description of the applet (in the applet itself) and clicking on the globe (lower right) takes you to Gary Nugent's  home page.

Many Thanks to Gary Nugent
for allowing us to use his applets!
